My career began at the young age of ten, when I came to the aid of my first customer: my science teacher, who was having trouble with the classroom computer. I’ve been helping people with technology ever since.
After working in corporate IT as well as the academic sector, I launched my freelance career in 1998 as an independent tech support specialist. In 2001 I incorporated as Guidry Consulting, and in 2018 changed my business to Lightning Technology Services, Inc.
I have written for numerous publications including The Wall Street Journal, The Writer, HIT Exchange, The McHenry County Business Journal, Writer’s Digest, and more. I am a regular tech columnist for The Northwest Herald, and have written monthly articles for them from 2010 to the present. I am available to write feature articles for your print or online publication. Please see my online portfolio for examples of my work.
When I’m not fixing computers or writing about technology, I enjoy reading, gardening, and spending time with my wonderful children. I’m a lifelong fan of fantasy and science fiction, and can recite Doctor Who episodes from memory upon request.
